SEE IF YOU QUALIFYFAQ
What is business data licensing?
Business data licensing means a company grants an AI company the right to use a copy of its operating records — internal communications, documents, workflows, and decision history — to train AI systems. Through Mode Inc, established companies and nonprofits license that data and get paid for it. The company keeps its originals and keeps operating as normal.
How much does Mode pay for a company's data?
Mode's published program range is $100K–$5M per company. The figure for any individual company is set by Mode's review of its records — the years and volume of operating history, how connected the records are across the business, and the uniqueness of the documented work. No amount can be promised before that review.
Which companies qualify?
Minimum team sizes are 10+ employees for legal, 15+ for accounting, finance, and medical, and 50+ for all other businesses and nonprofits. Companies must be based in the US, Canada, the UK, or Australia, with several years of operating records. A free qualification check is available on this site.
Can a nonprofit license its data?
Yes. Nonprofits are explicitly eligible under the same program, with a minimum of 50+ staff and several years of operating records.
What does it cost my company?
Nothing. There is no application fee and no broker fee charged to your company. Mode pays your company for the license — and if an affiliate introduced you, that person's fee is paid by Mode as well, never deducted from your company.
Do we keep our data, and how long does it take?
Yes — you license an agreed copy; your originals stay with you, and personal information is de-identified before use. The process runs Apply, Review, LOI, Agree & Export, Deliver, Get Paid. Mode's stated timeline is approximately three months from first conversation to payment.
